Annie Lennox's song No More I Love You's is impressive and wonderful in itself but the official music video to it is in a class of its own. The character of the singer with her strong makeup and extreme facial expressions (those eyes!) are an image of a shattering mind and silent grief. I took my reference from the video in question.

I approached this painting, too, with a loose touch but aiming to have it look quite detailed from a distance. My own addition is the placement of a Mourning cloak butterfly on her veil fold.

I have almost finished a Youtube tutorial video on this painting which practically covers the whole process but emphasizes the way to start. I'll add the link here and there will also be a direct viewing window in "Media" menu above.
