Written In The Stone

Oil colour on 21 x 30 cm fiber board (MDF), ready to be hung in simple black frame.

This is based on my own photo taken with a 200mm (”something”) objective with this huge bokeh that I was trying to replicate. Only the edge of the first stone is in focus and this is as close to abstract painting as I’ve so far done. I think it captures the warmth of summer evening’s sun, very soon to be experienced again!

For some reason, this often led my thoughts to Earth, Wind & Fire's classic song, Written In The Stone. It played while painting and hence also the title.
