Paris in the 18th Century

2019

Oil colour on 33 x 24 x 1 cm prefab canvas.

Things sometimes "synchronize" in our reality in bizarre ways. I had already worked with this one for a couple of blocking sessions when the news started to fill with the burning Notre Dame. The church can be seen in the background in my painting.

This is the second painting that is shamelessly based on screencapture from the Outlander TV series. I've never been to Paris but I can understand its charm, especially watching the paintings of the impressionists.

Regrettably often this happens with paintings that I've started: the poor one has to wait for many months that I find a new spark for it. However, I'm sure that will be found eventually.
