Obey, oh human! Resistance is futile.

The painting is once again based on my own photo. Back in the days when my children were young we had two cats at the same time living with us. The elder one, Iita, looked exactly like this little furball. These tigers (striped ones) are, in my experience at least, perhaps the most pleasant and affectionate by character—for some reason the orange males even more so. Iita was the most extraordinary cat: she even went on walks with us in the city suburb, followed along nicely without a leash. We never had to worry for her. Many people remarked how dog-like our cat was. This wouldn't necessarily have been an insult for Iita as she had grown up with a dog.

This was never meant to be hyper-realistic, either. The painterly feel is evident.
