Summer always lives on in memories, in the winter too. My mind often strays to the many swims at this wilderness lake, many times among harmless snakes. The basis for this painting is once again my own photo.

Water is a fascinating and thrilling element, therefore also a challenge for the painter. You can't force it into patterns. It might sometimes look as if waves came in constant patterns but, in reality, none is like the other. The light plays and glimmers among them as freely. Could this be the basic essence of life itself? That could very well be.
