Sadly enough, my life has during the last 1,5 years undergone major health challenges in the form of long covid. It has affected everything, and I've pushed aside even such seemingly minor task as updating this platform. Therefore it didn't feel a priority to publish individual new paintings, either. Now however, I felt more upto it.

I handed over this commission work already for the Mothers' Day (in May here in Finland) 2023, and finally I'm publishing it here as well (in social media already ages ago). This painting portrays the same wonderful lady as in The Purest Joy, this time accompanied by her then 15 years old son. The somewhat faded and small reference photo proved a challenge but I'm very pleased with how this turned out. The emotional dynamics and clearly visible tenderness was what I tried to concentrate on and make apparent — hence the name as well.
